The Beldi Collection offers a luxurious and authentic experience to discover the Sahara desert and connect with the nomadic life of the Berber people. We had the privilege to photograph Riad Louhou (Marrakech) and the Nubia Luxury Camp situated amongst the foothills of Erg Chegaga, with the focus to capture the beauty of the desert and the culture of its people.
A gateway into the desert
Riad Louhou, situated within the Marrakech medina was built as a 'Gateway into the desert'. Its visitors can experience a luxurious stay within one of Morocco's buzzing cities before venturing off into the stillness of the Sahara desert. We aimed to capture this hotel in all its luxury, whilst capturing it's 'gateway' essence through framed doorways and highlighting it's beautiful nomadic-inspired decor. To capture the full experience that the brand embodied it was also vital to step outside and capture the beauty of the context in which the riad is built in - the vibrant medina of Marrakech.
A once in a lifetime adventure
Travelling through the Atlas mountains, we eventually find ourselves amongst the foothills of the high dunes of Erg Chegaga, one of the most beautiful areas of the Moroccan Sahara. The Nubia Luxury Camp offers a stunning 'glamping' adventure where one can connect with the nomadic culture of the desert people. It offers many opportunities for sleeping under the stars, exploring the rolling dunes to find hidden oases, and to meet with the nomadic people that inhabit the desert. We wanted to capture the extraordinary culture of the Berber people that influenced the brands purpose; utilising it as a catalyst to lure people into a once in a lifetime experience.
